Seed, seedlings, saplings:

Seed is an embryonic plant enclosed in a protective outer covering, called seed coat. Seed is a food reserve as well as a propagating material. Quality of a seed plays a critical role in enhancing productivity of agricultural crops. Quality seed alone increase productivity by 15-20% in cereal crops. This is equally important in other seedlings and saplings. At CiBiS, we develop/improve/ produce/supply quality seed, seedlings, and saplings of different agricultural plants.

BSF-based animal feed:

The rising human population worldwide and increasing demands for livestock products urge the establishment of a sustainable livestock sector. Identification and utilization of alternative feed ingredients is a key component of sustainable livestock production as feed costs alone account for up to 70% of total production costs in livestock production. At CiBiS, we produce, process, and characterize novel animal feeds using black soldier fly (BSF) larvae. BSF larvae are capable of efficiently recycling organic waste fractions into valuable nutrient sources rich in essential amino acids and unsaturated fatty acids.

A circular bioeconomy is an economy powered by nature and marries two key sustainability concepts. First, it involves using more renewable resources for energy, chemicals, and materials – like products made from plants. Second it works to keep those sustainable materials and products in use longer, instead of throwing them away. Rather than becoming garbage or pollution, in a circular bioeconomy the products are reused, repurposed or recycled.
